The T950 delivers powerful library management, superior and proactive data integrity administration, and the most cost effective tape solution. Once data expands beyond the limits of your initial T950 configuration, you simply add expansion frames to keep growing. The T950 can expand up to 120 drives and 10,020 LTO slots (7,614 enterprise slots) in eight frames. Now that’s flexibility.

T950 delivers cost effective, Flexible Growth & Performance
Adding capacity to your T950 is simple with Capacity on Demand (CoD). Start with as few as 90 enterprise slots or 100 LTO slots, and as your data storage needs expand, add more capacity in increments of 9 enterprise tape slots or 10 LTO tape slots, up to 7,614 enterprise slots or 10,020 LTO slots. The Spectra T950 Library utilizes a custom, 10-tape TeraPack for LTO media or a 9-tape TeraPack for enterprise tape media.
Roving TeraPack® Architecture
When data center real estate counts, Spectra Logic libraries offer you unsurpassed storage density and minimal footprint through a unique and highly efficient design. Instead of using traditional tape slots, Spectra uses innovative “shelves” and TeraPack containers to store tape cartridges in a cost effective manner. This approach gives Spectra’s enterprise libraries industry-best density, allowing you to store 10 LTO slots (9 enterprise slots) in a single container. When paired with the T950’s transporter, the T950’s TeraPack is not just a storage container, but a vehicle for transporting 180TB of LTO data (180TB of TS1160 data) to drives, storage shelves, import, and export in a single robotic movement, reducing the time required handling media by 90 percent.
