Spectra invests in its team by offering training in both soft and hard skills. For the past several years, the company has focused its learning curriculum on management training and development programs. These have been attended by both experienced and new managers, as well as non-manager employees. These classes have improved communication and boosted employee morale, while enabling associates to effectively manage their people and projects. Spectra also offers hard skills training in the areas of time management, desktop applications and project management. Some examples of current and recent trainings are listed below.

Another key training platform is our product and hands-on solution training. Employees are encouraged to learn more about our products via ongoing specific product and solution training. These regular training sessions help our associates become familiar with and understand our technology and its place in the industry.
Occasionally, Spectra also provides hard skills trainings in a range of subjects from GoLang programming to Java, Networking and Lean Principles. The recent ‘Intro to Lean’ training, for instance, paved the way for a number of lean initiatives in departments like Distribution and Operations, driving notable improvements in the flow of work processes for these teams. Furthermore, managers at Spectra are able to provide select individuals with access to the LinkedIn Learning online platform, where these associates can take advantage of over 13,000 video courses in business, technology and creative topics.

The goal behind Spectra’s L&D strategy is to grow individual skills and help to support and inspire company initiatives, but also give employees opportunities to gain knowledge and skills that they can take anywhere. Spectra’s L&D team is always open to suggestions for topics, calling on employees to envision their future and help build the learning program that will enable their growth.
