This past Memorial Day, more than 30 Spectra employees participated in the 37th Annual BolderBOULDER 10K. The BolderBOULDER is described as “one of the largest and most highly acclaimed road races in the world.” With approximately 50,000 runners and walkers participating annually, it is the third largest U.S-based 10K race, and seventh largest 10K race in the world. Spectra Logic supports its participating associates with registration fee reimbursement, team volunteer opportunities and the option to participate in the BolderBOULDER’s unique fitness initiative, the BolderBusinessCHALLENGE.

The BolderBusinessCHALLENGE provides participants with access to online training programs and even opportunities to run with some of the area’s professional runners. Many Spectra participants also took part in an internal training group led by our own sales team member, Graham Stoner. This 11-week program allowed participants to physically prepare for the race with a weekly group run, and 1-2 suggested training runs for members to complete on their own time.

After crossing the finish line, Spectra participants joined family and friends in a suite above Folsom Field, cheering alongside 100,000 spectators as runners, joggers, and walkers. The suite was hosted by Spectra to support its employees leading active and engaging lives around the Boulder community.

“Many of our athletes ran their first 10k, beat their best times and/or simply had an all-around good time. As a coach, I sincerely enjoy being part of the journey that leads to that,” said Graham Stoner.
