                                                                                       Channel Revenue Increases 70 percent year over year under Doughty’s Leadership

 BOULDER, Colo.—February 21, 2011Spectra Logic, celebrating more than 30 years of data storage innovation, today announced that Betsy Doughty, Spectra Logic’s director of channel development, has been named a Channel Chief by the Everything Channel’s CRN. Channel Chiefs are leaders in creating effective channel programs for solution providers.  They consistently defend, promote and execute effective channel partner programs and strategies. 

 Doughty joined Spectra in 2006, and brings more than 12 years of indirect sales experience to her channel development leadership role. She was instrumental in driving a 70 percent year over year increase in Spectra Logic’s SpectraEDGE channel partner program revenues for the first half of fiscal year 2011, which ended December 31. Worldwide channel partner recruitment increased by 20 percent in the same timeframe. Several sectors experienced extraordinary growth during the past twelve months: Federal channel partner revenue was up 1,000 percent, media and entertainment VAR revenue was up nearly 50 percent and direct marketing retail partner revenues were up more than 41 percent in the first quarter year over year. In the past year, Doughty also led the development of key international territories and increased partner recruitment percent across Europe, Canada, South America and India.

This year’s Channel Chiefs were chosen based by Everything Channel editorial on criteria including policy and program innovations made during the past year, the amount of revenue their company generates through partners, their willingness to speak out publicly on behalf of the channel, and the number of years they have dedicated to channel activities. 

SpectraEDGE now includes more than 500 partners, and continues to support its partners through partner training and certification programs, and joint marketing efforts including events, advertising and trade show sponsorships. Under Betsy’s leadership, Spectra Logic's overall partner recruitment continues to grow by double digits each year,” said Molly Rector, Spectra’s vice president of marketing and product management. “Betsy has been key in increasing Spectra’s mid-market exposure by utilizing the channel, maintaining market verticals and increasing the company’s international marketing focus.
