BOULDER, Colo., September 27, 2007—Spectra Logic, the innovator in data archive and backup, announced the appointment of Andrew Philippou as vice president (VP) of worldwide support and services. He is responsible for leading Spectra Logic’s support and services department, which assists customers to assure high uptime for tens of thousands of storage libraries and disk archive solutions around the globe.
As Spectra Logic’s VP of worldwide support and services, Philippou manages all aspects of customer support, including first call response, technical support, installation and professional services.
“Andrew will streamline support response schedules and leverage his industry knowledge to support customers,” said Marcy Montgomery, Spectra Logic’s COO. “His vast enterprise customer experience is a great asset to Spectra Logic as we continue to gain momentum with this caliber of users.”
Philippou brings more than 20 years in high-tech services and support experience, including nine years in the storage industry. Prior to joining Spectra Logic, Philippou held senior management positions at StorageTek, now part of Sun Microsystems (NASDAQ: JAVA), in the enterprise tape products, global critical situations and global IT support groups.

Philippou earned a national technical certificate in electrical engineering from Johannesburg Technical College and a diploma in business management from Damelin Management School, both in South Africa.
