Spectra Logic Announces New Chief Operating Officer

BOULDER, Colo., January 19, 2006—Spectra Logic, the data storage innovator, today announces Marcy Montgomery as its new chief operating officer. Montgomery brings more than 20 years experience in high technology business management to Spectra Logic.

“We appointed Marcy as our chief operating officer due to her cross-functional and senior management experience in manufacturing, finance and marketing,” said Nathan Thompson, Spectra Logic’s CEO. “As Spectra Logic continues to grow, we adjust our management objectives and appoint leaders like Marcy, with proven success and broad expertise to strengthen ourorganization’s functions.”

Montgomery joins Spectra Logic after serving as a key management leader for Agilent Technologies and Hewlett-Packard Company. During her tenure with Agilent-HP, Montgomery served two years as vice president of global market solutions for the electronic manufacturing industry; four years as general manager in the X-ray inspection and custom test system businesses; one year as business unit controller for the worldwide instrument service and support divisions; and five years as a manufacturing and finance director of the wireless test division.

Montgomery earned a master’s in business administration from the University of Washington and a bachelor’s of science degree from Colorado State University.
