Spectra Logic also Introduces the Spectra S50 Library Designed for the Distribution Channel

BOULDER, Colo.,- August 29, 2005 – Spectra Logic announced its new distribution program for North America today. D&H Distributing Co. will now offer its resellers the new Spectra® S50 LTO library, the Spectra 2K AIT library, DAStape and NAStape stand-alone tape drives and certified media products targeted to mid-range business customers. This major company initiative extends Spectra Logic’s reach to more than 20,000 additional commercial, state, local and federal resellers in North America. These resellers can now offer midrange customers a complete storage solution leveraging Spectra Logic innovation, all at an affordable price.

About D&H’s new Spectra Logic product line:

  • The Spectra S50 library has many of the features found in enterprise class Spectra libraries, like a color touch screen interface with options, remote Web-based management interface and scalability from 10-50 LTO cartridges and up to four drives. The S50 is specially priced for the distribution channel at $9,500 list price.
  • The Spectra 2K library with one AIT-4 drive and thirty slots has 15.6 TB of data compressed. List price for the 2K begins at $3,495. • NAStape is a networked tape drive that uses Gigabit Ethernet to connect to the host and DAStape is a SCSI tape drive for the single server environments. Both are available in AIT, LTO, SDLT and SAIT. Pricing begins at $2,800.
  • D & H will also offer Spectra Logic’s full compliment of AIT and LTO certified media products along with other library accessories and support product offerings.
